To Whom It May Concern: In 2009, my mother died of cancer after just over seven months of care at home by me and Colleen Nadalin, of Driving Miss Daisy. It gives me pleasure to write this letter to attest to the incredibly high quality of care Colleen and her brother, Mike, gave to my mother; my understanding is that it far exceeded the mandate of Driving Miss Daisy. I could not have kept my mother home, where she needed to be, nor kept myself sane and in good health, without the calm, cheerful, ready and resourceful help of this woman. It was clear from the start that Colleen genuinely cared about my mother and that caring for her was not just a job for her. She went out of her way to be available every time I needed her and to undertake tasks, willingly, respectfully and tenderly, that would be considered by most to be unpleasant or upsetting. For me, the most important quality Colleen and Mike brought with them was the way they became personally involved with my mother and her care without becoming emotionally intrusive. As a result, what was a distressing and frequently humiliating experience for my mother was made bearable. There are no words adequate to express my gratitude for that. When I wish Colleen long and prosperous success in her venure with Driving Miss Daisy, I do so not just for her sake, but for the sake, also, of the many other families out there who would benefit from having Colleen - and Mike - as their personal saviour/caregiver/jack of all trades. I'm more than happy to answer any further questions prospective clients of Colleen's might have. She has my contact information and my permission to give it out. Sincerely, Kelly
